Yvonne De Carlo's Salome Salad

Time for a belated centennial celebration of Halloween goddess Yvonne De Carlo!

Yvonne De Carlo was born on September 1, 1922. Her breakthrough role came in the 1945 film Salome, Where She Danced and went on to star in several exotic Technicolor films at Universal including Song of Scheherazade. De Carlo wanted to escape type casting and went on to co-star in the noir classics Brute Force (1947) and Criss Cross (1949). In 1956 she played the wife of Moses in Cecil B. De Mille's production of The Ten Commandments. Today she is best remembered for her iconic turn as Lily Munster in the classic sitcom The Munsters (1964 - 1966).

The Final Result

We loved the tomato soup salad dressing. I forgot to take a photo, but this image I found on google is a pretty close approximation!

There are plenty of Yvonne De Carlo films on DVD and Turner Classic Movies!
