Olivia Newton-John Summer Brunch

We are celebrating the life, music and legacy of Olivia Newton-John.

Olivia Newton-John recently passed away and her death has hit me hard! I fell in love with her along with the rest of the world when I saw "Grease". She also starred in the cult classic "Xanadu" and had a long career as a pop singer. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 and became a powerful advocate for breast cancer research. She founded the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, which sponsors research into plant based medicine for cancer and opened a cancer research facility in her name outside of Melbourne, Australia.

I just recently discovered that she wrote a cookbook too! "Livwise Cookbook: Easy, Well-Balanced, And Delicious Recipes For A Healthy, Happy Life" was released in 2011. Naturally, I had to round up some of my Hollywood Kitchen regulars for a special tribute.

The Episode

We didn't mean to, but we all wound up picking recipes that worked perfectly for a summer brunch! This is also hands down the healthiest episode of Hollywood Kitchen so far. Olivia's cookbook is really affordable and easy to find on Amazon.

The Recipes

Pina Colada Breakfast Shake

It is still very hot outside, so this recipe sounded perfect . I love smoothies and I thought it might add a festive touch to garnish it with fresh fruit, but I forgot to grab some paper umbrellas.
